Privacy Policy

Effective date: September 29, 2026 · Developer: Bruce Chu (independent developer)

This page explains how the iOS app "Nurie Racer (ぬりえレーサー)" (the "App") handles information about your child and you as a parent or guardian. It is written for parents.

Summary: The App does not require an account. The developer does not collect any personal information. Camera images are processed entirely on the device and are never sent to any server. The App does not include any third-party analytics or advertising.

1. Information we collect

The developer (Bruce Chu) does not collect any personal information such as name, email address, location, or contacts. There is no account system and no login.

Children cannot type free text anywhere in the App, and cannot see text entered by other children. This prevents accidental sharing of personal information and inappropriate messages between children.

2. Camera use

The App may ask for camera access so your child can turn a printed coloring sheet into the paint job on their 3D car. The camera is used for exactly one purpose:

Camera frames are processed entirely on the device. The video/image frames captured while scanning are never uploaded or sent to the developer's servers.

The only thing saved on the device after scanning is the finished car body texture (a color image). The raw camera frames captured during scanning are not saved; they are discarded on the device once processing is finished.

If a face appears in the frame: a frame that is detected to contain a human face is discarded immediately and is never used to build the car design, saved, or sent anywhere.

If camera permission is not granted, your child can still create a car by finger-painting directly on the screen.

3. What is stored, and where

The App stores only the following on your device, and none of it is sent to the developer or any other third party:

4. Third parties

The App does none of the following:

The App connects to the network in exactly two situations:

  1. To process purchases, restore purchases, or check subscription status, connecting to Apple's own servers (App Store / StoreKit). That flow is handled by Apple under Apple's own privacy policy; the developer never receives payment details such as card numbers.
  2. When a parent taps Privacy Policy, Terms of Use, or Support from the Parents' Area, the App opens our website (https://brucechu777.github.io/nurieracer/) in the system browser (Safari). This site is hosted on GitHub Pages; as with any web page, the host sees ordinary access information such as the visitor's IP address. Our own pages carry no analytics, cookies, or tracking. This link is only reachable after the parental gate, so a child cannot open it.

Outside of these two cases, the App makes no other network connection, and gameplay itself (coloring, scanning, racing) needs no network connection at all.

5. In-app purchases

All in-app purchases (subscriptions and the one-time purchase) are sold, billed, and managed entirely through Apple's App Store. See the Terms of Use for details.

6. How to delete your data

You can delete everything the App has stored at any time:

  1. In the App: open the "Parents' Area" (a short parental gate is shown first) and choose "Delete all data." This removes everything the App has saved on the device, including your child's created cars.
  2. By deleting the App: removing the App from your device deletes the cars, nicknames, and settings it had stored.

Exception: the count of remaining free races is kept in a secure storage area on the device and is not removed by either method above. It is just a number from 0 to 3, contains no personal information, and is never sent anywhere — it exists only so that deleting and reinstalling the App cannot be used to reset your free races.

7. Children's privacy (for parents)

The App is listed in Apple's Kids Category (age range 6–8). This section is written for parents and guardians.

Questions from parents are welcome at the contact address below.

8. Future features

Version 1.0 does not upload photos or anything your child creates to the internet. If a future version adds a feature to share cars with others online, this Privacy Policy will be updated before that feature is turned on, describing exactly what would be sent and when. Any such sharing is planned to be off by default and only happen when a parent explicitly turns it on.

9. Contact

10. Changes to this policy

If this policy changes, this page will be updated and the current version will remain accessible from within the App.
